Jancker was a starting striker for Bayern Munich during the German League
games, and helped the team to win Germany League title in 1999, 2000 and
2001.
Jancker will soon be competing with Shenhua in both the China Super League
and AFC Champions League.
Despite the fact Jancker was not listed in the roster of Germany national
team, the 32-year-old, 193 cm footballer has enjoyed a lengthy career
playing at the international level.
He then was a top pick for Shanghai this season out of several potential
foreign candidates.
Jancker had his first trial training session with Shenhua in Shanghai on May
17.
"I'm willing to join Shenhua," Jancker told local media after the session.
"I'm confident of my upcoming performances with them."
Jancker, wearing No.9 polo shirt with Germany Kaiserslautern, lost
several good chances to earn points while competing in German
League games, as he was put in an important position in the team.
The decline of Kaiserslautern also made Jancker depressed, he thus
received the invitation of Shanghai Shenhua without
hesitation.
