IOC commends preparation for 2008 Games

Updated: 2006-05-19 09:40 At the press conference, BOCOG Executive Vice President Jiang Xiaoyu announced that the second world broadcasters meeting will take place in Beijing from 9-11 August 2006, when representatives of over 300 rights-holding broadcasters will hear the presentation of the host broadcaster - Beijing Olympic Broadcasting Co. about Olympic television broadcasting arrangements and BOCOG will make a presentation on media transportation, accommodation, technology, accreditation and Olympic marketing.
Jiang said another event, the World Olympic Press Briefing, is planned for September this year, which will be the first occasion for world mainstream media to get informed of media operations at 2008 Games. Over 100 well-known world news and photo agencies and newspapers will be invited to the meeting. Other topics dealt with in detail included technology, finance, medical services, Paralympic Games, Olympic Family services and sponsorship services. The seventh full meeting of the commission will be convened in Beijing in October 2006. Prior to the 2008 Games, the commission will visit Beijing twice a year regularly.
