The two teams had met at group stage and played a goalless draw. However,
Portugal had always been the favorite with more strength and depth.
China's Mao Jianqing hit the poles in the first half and created a penalty
kick in the second half. However, captain Chen Tao missed the oppotunity.
Portugal scored the winning goal at 66th minute.
China had to settled for a fourth-place finishing at the tournament. Portugal
stood 3rd.
