officials have announced that they wont be partnering with any alcohol or
tobacco related companies, or any company that is not environmentally-friendly,
a Beijing-based newspaper reported today.
The admission cost of being an exclusive partner to the Games is 41 million
yuan (US$5.13 million), to be an ordinary partner it costs 16 million yuan, the
Olympic organizing committee disclosed yesterday.
"The Beijing Olympic Games plans to recruit over a 100 franchisers," said
Tang Yonghong, an official of the committee.
The organizing committee stands to make US$1.63 billion via the event, with
over US$300 million to US$400 million earned from the development of its
domestic and foreign markets.
"With thousands of athletes, Olympic officials and visitors expected to rush
to the city for the Games, we are in great need of bus services," Li Zhiquan,
another official from the committee, said.
