United Parcel Service (UPS) and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), outlining the logistics and express delivery services UPS will provide for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Since signing a Beijing 2008 sponsorship agreement in July 2005, UPS has worked closely with BOCOG to develop unique solutions for the Games.

Under the plan outlined in the MOU, UPS will support BOCOG in the development and coordination of the delivery plans as well as providing the logistics service between all the Olympic venues.

In addition, UPS will provide express delivery and transportation services in all areas including the Olympic Green, the Athlete's Village and the Press Village.

Under the MOU, services to be provided will range from movement of time-sensitive film footage and photographic materials to ticket handling.

"As the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be the greatest ever, it will require everyone supporting these games to 'deliver more, '" said Ken Torok, president of UPS Asia Pacific region. "UPS is honoured to be involved."

UPS is the world's largest package delivery company and a global leader in supply chain services. Headquartered in Atlanta, UPS serves more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
