The 1,900-plus exponents include artworks and sculptures to beautify public places, involving municipal administration, service and transport.

Visitors can find such skillfully-designed projects as the telephone booth, bus stand and public chair.

The exponents are the results of a campaign launched in November last year to call for the designs. The organizers, including the Beijing Planning Commission and Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) Culture and Ceremonies Department, have collected a total of 5,000 contributions.

These artworks provide for ample resources to beautify the Olympic Green and other Olympic competition venues as well as ordinary public places in the city, said Yu Huayun, an official with the campaign office.

The exhibition at the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall opens free-of-charge until July 9. Visitors are encouraged to cast their votes for the favorite schemes and put forward their proposals on the suitable place for each of them.
