Hamilton could be an F1 winner before Button (Reuters) Updated: 2006-06-13 10:18
"After a terrific win on home soil, one British race star deservedly milked
the applause from 80,000 fans," declared the Sun newspaper's race report. "And
then there was Jenson Button."
Honda boss Nick Fry was unstinting in his praise of his driver after the race
however and felt that those pushing the Hamilton bandwagon needed to take a
reality check before they got carried away.
"We all admire Lewis's talent," he said. "Lewis has clearly got immense
talent but the driving of the car is only one part of the equation in Formula
One.
"You suddenly go from a team of 15-20 people to a team of in excess of 500
and the stresses and the strains and the media attention and everything else
means there is a lot to learn regardless of how good you are.
"Do I think Lewis Hamilton will win a grand prix? Absolutely yes, I think he
is a tremendously talented 21-year-old. Do I think he's going to win before
Jenson? I doubt it."
