The world No. 22 player will become China's first singles player to meet her German counterpart Kathrin Woerle when she takes the court in Fed Cup World Group II play-off.
Zheng Jie will play against Kristina Barrois in the second singles rubber.
The four players will then exchange rivals for Sunday's singles matches while Zheng Jie teams up with Yan Zi for the doubles.
China's Peng Shuai and Germany's Anna-Lena Groenefeld have both withdrawn from the competition due to injuries.
