More than 70 percent of tickets for the opening ceremony of the Doha Asian Games have been solde out.

The organizers are urging fans to snap up the remaining tickets in order to avoid disappointment for failing to attend the December 1st extravaganza.

The advice comes hot on the heels of the launch of the third and final phase of Doha 2006 ticket sales. Previous releases in May and September have sold quicker than expected, leading to the final wave of tickets being released earlier than anticipated.

The surge of interest for the Opening Ceremony tickets is thought to be due to the promise of a huge spectacular event involving hundreds of global artistes and performers.

Ticket prices for the Ceremonies range from QAR(Qatari Riyal) 150 to QAR500, nearly US$40 to 140.

There are also special seating arrangements for families.
