German teenager Vietoris secures F1 test with BMW

LONDON, Nov 26 - German teenager Christian Vietoris secured a test drive with the BMW Sauber Formula One team on Sunday.

The 17-year-old beat 35 rivals to win the world final of the various Formula BMW junior series at Spain's Valencia circuit.

"He has now joined the likes of (BMW test driver) Sebastian Vettel and (Williams grand prix driver) Nico Rosberg, who started their successful careers in single-seater racing in Formula BMW," said BMW team boss Mario Theissen in a statement.

"I'm convinced that he also has the talent to take the next step," he added.

Germany's Marco Holzer, last year's winner of the world final, had a Formula One test at the Spanish circuit on Thursday.
