= Lusail Shooting Complex=

The newly-built complex in the desert 18km north of Doha will host the shooting and archery competitions for the games.

Built to Olympic standards, the complex features both indoor and outdoor shooting ranges, as well as archery practice and competition areas.

= Mesaieed Endurance Course=

Horses and riders in the equestrian desert endurance event will traverse a familiar landmark for day-trippers heading for the Mesaieed beaches and sand dunes south of Doha.

The course includes five loops, each between 20 kilometers and 30 kilometers (12.5 miles and 16.5 miles) in length, for a total race distance of 120 kilometers (74.5 miles). The competitors will return to the start point at the end of each loop for a medical examination.

Temporary stands holding 500 spectators have been built in the desert at the start and finish lines for December 14 event. Organizers warn that only experienced 4x4 drivers should travel into the desert for a closer view.

= Qatar Bowling Centre=

The 32-lane facility in central Doha will be home to the Asian Games tenpin bowling competition from December 3-10.

Temporary stands built over some of the lanes provide seating for 350 spectators.

= Qatar Sports Club=

The Qatar Sports Club's main arena, made famous this year when Justin Gatlin equaled the 100 meters world record during an IAAF World Super Tour athletics meeting in May, is one of the five venues for the soccer competition.

The northern Doha facility's indoor hall will stage the judo, karate and taekwondo events from December 2-13.

The 12,500-seat main arena, which hosted the 2005 West Asian Games opening and closing ceremonies, has been renovated, as has the indoor hall, which will seat 1,050 spectators.

Gatlin has since been banned from competition following a doping violation.

= West Bay Lagoon=

A picturesque collection of man-made waterways north of Doha, it will host canoeing, kayak and rowing competitions.

Temporary seating for 500 spectators is provided at West Bay Lagoon, one of Doha's most sought-after addresses.

Rowing stars December 2, while the canoe and kayak events will be held December 10-14.

= Al-Dana Club=

The Al Dana club, in the grounds of the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash complex, will host the weightlifting, chess and bodybuilding tournaments.

The luxury sports and social club has been upgraded to hold 500 spectators for the December 2-14 chess tournament, while more than 1,000 spectators can be accommodated for the December 2-9 weightlifting competitions held in the banqueting hall.
