Wang scores twice to lift China claim bronze

DOHA - Chinese midfielder Wang Kun scored twice to help China beat South Korea 2-0 and win the bronze medal in the women's soccer tournament at the Doha Asian Games on Wednesday.

The two sides played a dull game at the first half, but China created more opportunities than South Korea.

China's goal came in 40th minute when midfielder Wang Kun headed the ball into lower left corner of the net, giving China a 1-0 lead.

After the break, China gradually gained advantage and launched attacks one after another. China's efforts were paid off in the 66th minute when Wang Kun sent home a cross from defender Liu Huana.

China continued to attack while South Korea also put more power to attack, but both sides failed to score thereafter.

Later in the day, Japan and DPR Korea will compete in the women 's soccer final.
