Former 400m world champ quits

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Former world 400m run champion Sandi Richards of Jamaica called it quits on Sunday.

Richards, who won gold at the 2001 world championships and bronze at the 2004 Athens Olympics in the 4x400 relay, will switch to a coaching career.

The 38-year-old competed in four Olympics. She also won the 400 at the 1993 and 2000 world indoor championships and at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Malaysia.
