CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace will miss at least a week with a separated right shoulder.

Wallace was injured when he dove for a loose ball Saturday in a win at Indiana. The Pacers' Jeff Foster landed on top of Wallace, driving his shoulder into the floor.

"He'll be out a minimum of a week. The discomfort has to go away first," trainer Joe Sharpe said Monday. "It's very painful."

Wallace started the Bobcats' first 30 games and is averaging 13.3 points and 5.4 rebounds. After a slow start, Wallace has come on of late. He scored 40 points ¡ª one off his career high ¡ª in a loss to Washington last Wednesday. Two nights later he scored 28 in a triple-overtime win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Wallace is the second starter the Bobcats have lost to injury in the past week. Guard Brevin Knight will miss at least three more weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a torn abdominal muscle.
