Injured Wade bidding to return to Heat(Reuters)Updated: 2007-03-06 10:19 Miami Heat All-star Dwyane Wade will not have surgery on his dislocated left shoulder in an attempt to return to the NBA champions this season. Rather than surgery, Wade has opted for a rigorous rehabilitation program that could allow him to be back in action for the playoffs. "My decision for the next two to three weeks is to rehab with the possibility of coming back, but with no guarantee," Wade told reporters on Monday. "(I need) to see if I have the confidence in my shoulder to play at a high level." Wade, who had been among the NBA's top scorers averaging 28.8 points a game, sustained the injury on February 21 during a meeting with Houston Rockets when he collided with Shane Battier. Last year's finals MVP, Wade sought out several medical opinions before deciding on rehabilitation with the hope of rejoining the Heat before the start of playoffs on April 21 |
