2006 World Champion triple gold medalists Cheng Fei has hone her skills for a up-to-date unique skill in a brilliant show on the floor, and hopes to had it named in the upcoming international tournaments, China gymnastics women's team coach Lu Shanzhen said to China Sports Daily.
"The performance, utmost difficulty and complicated in terms of gymnastic techniques, has been drilled repeatedly by Cheng Fei in the winter training, Lu revealed,
Lu didn't reveal the details of the newly-designed play but confirm Cheng has climbed up to another top stage concerning her personal skills.
The girl herself nodded agreement of coach in despite of no plan to demonstrate the fresh version of "Cheng Fei Jump" in the coming competition, but denied that she has reached her peak in individual events.
The 18-year-old was the brightest star at the championships in last October, defending her vault crown, helping China win the first women's team title at the expense of defending champions the United States and wrapping up the tournament with an acrobatic floor routine.
Being strong on vault and floor, Cheng still has soft spot in her defenses-balance beam, "World Championships at a later date would provide an opportunity to enhance Cheng's techniques, "Lu said, "though, seldom does she previously contend with others in this event."
Lu's training program, however, has not aimed at fostering Cheng out of an all-around player, for she in the world is dominating in individual events like vault and floor, while seems to be always suffering setbacks in the all-round.
"Of course, each team player like Cheng has gained a lot when the winter training program finished in both technique and difficulty-choice of performance," Lu added.
