GLASGOW June 25 - Scottish champions Celtic on Monday announced the signing of AC Milan midfielder Massimo Donati.

The Italian has agreed a four-year deal, reportedly worth around $6 million, and will travel to Glasgow for a medical early next week.

A Celtic spokesman told the club's Web site: "We are delighted that Massimo has signed for the club.

"He is a player of real quality and we're sure he will be a great addition to the squad."

Massimo, 26, is manager Gordon Strachan's fourth summer signing having lured Australian striker Scott McDonald from Motherwell, New Zealand forward Chris Killen and Scottish international midfielder Scott Brown, who were both from Hibernian.

The 26-year-old Donati started his career at Atalanta before moving to Milan in 2001.
