Italian Serie A giants AC Milan are interested in signing unsettled Real Madrid's Italian striker Antonio Cassano, according to the European champions' managing director.

Adriano Galliani has said that Milan are only in the market for a forward this summer and admitted that the Italian talent was one of the club's potential targets.

"Let's put him on the list, you all know that I don't dislike him," Galliani told reporters.

Cassano has a reputation for poor discipline and his career has been disrupted by a series of bust-ups with coaches.

He joined Real Madrid from AS Roma in January 2006, but has been unable to command a regular first-team place in Spain, in part because of frosty relations with Fabio Capello.

The 24-year-old has also had trouble keeping his weight down in the Spanish capital.

As a result the player, who has 10 international caps, has fallen out of the Azzurri fold too.

But he remains an exceptionally gifted footballer with enormous potential.
