The Sharks capitalized on special teams, recording four power-play goals en route to snapping a two-game losing streak.
"The power play hasn't got us goals this year but we've been working at it and it paid off tonight," defenseman Dan Boyle told reporters after contributing with three assists.
"We've been stressing (having our defenseman contribute offensively) early in the year, and it was great to help out tonight."
The Pacific Division-leading Sharks (14-3-1) got a franchise-record nine points in all from their defenseman in a team effort that saw them crush the Flames (9-8-1).
San Jose's six goals increased the team's NHL-leading total to 63 scores for the season.
Pavelski started things off with a score at 8:04 in the first period and Michalek followed with one of his own just 27 seconds later.
Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton both added power-play goals during a four-goal first period that put Calgary in an early 4-0 hole.
"When we're on and the puck is going in the net it shows what it can be like for us," Pavelski said. "Our line is generating some offense but there's still room for improvement."
The Sharks generated 46 shots on goal to the Flames' 24, and chased goalie Mikka Kiprusoff, who was pulled after allowing four scores in favor of Curtis McElhinney.
Michael Cammalleri scored Calgary's lone goal at 10:13 in the third period, beating San Jose goalie Brian Boucher, who finished with 23 saves.
