MILAN: Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho cannot discuss soccer because he has never played the game, Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic said on Saturday.

Mihajlovic's comments came after Mourinho remarked that the Serbian was allowed to become an assistant coach at Inter in 2006 despite spitting at opponents as a player.

The feud began on Friday when Mihajlovic discussed how he and former Inter coach Roberto Mancini had treated controversial striker Adriano compared to Mourinho's approach.

"I didn't want to criticize Mourinho but I only referred to the situation with Adriano," Mihajlovic told reporters after Bologna's 5-2 Serie A win over Torino. "Mancini and I dealt with it in the same way yet we were considered incapable and he is seen as great.

"But it is difficult to talk with him about football because he has never played."

Mourinho, who never made the grade as a young player so became an interpreter and a coach, has clashed with a number of Italian soccer personalities since arriving in June.

He was also notorious for having had run-ins with fellow managers while at Chelsea.
