Rookie Mason made a spectacular NHL debut recording a league high 10 shutouts, including three straight in December, helping the Blue Jackets to their first playoff appearance.

After nine years playing in Europe, Backstrom needed just three seasons with the Wild to establish himself as one of the league's best.

The Finn finished third in goals against average (2.33) and shutouts (eight) while his 37 wins set a team record.

Thomas led the NHL in goals against average (2.10) while posting a career-high 36 wins to help the Bruins to the Eastern Conference's best record.

The winner will be announced on June 18 at the NHL awards show in Las Vegas.
