JAKARTA - The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) is determined to seize championship in the upcoming Sudirman Cup in Guangzhou of China amid tough rivalries, a PBSI senior official said in Guangzhou on Tuesday.

Ahead of the Sudirman Cup tournament scheduled for May 10th-17th in Guangzhou, China, PBSI Chairman Djoko Santoso realized that the Indonesian team face hard task to win the tournament.

"It's time for us to focus and concentrate on winning," the Jakarta Post on Wednesday quoted Djoko Santoso as saying.

PBSI officially announced Tuesday its squad for the biennial tournament comprising 12 men and 8 women players, seven coaches, two paramedics and six officials.

Indonesian badminton team's achievement is considered discouraging lately. Only a handful of players have attained success in the preceding Super Series.

Indonesia's world No. 1 mixed doubles pair Nova Widayanto and Liliyana Natsir were the only players to triumph at the Malaysia Open at the beginning of the year. None of Indonesia's singles player reached the finals in All England Open in Birmingham, England.
