HAVANA - Cuban Olympic champion of 110m hurdles, Bayron Robles, said the return of Chinese Liu Xiang to the international competition will bring spark to the sport, local press said on Monday.

As quoted by the daily "Granma" published on Monday, Robles told sports program "Todo Deportes" that "Liu's presence makes things more interesting. He give a higher level to the 110m hurdles, he makes it more attractive."

In 2008, Robles and Liu roused great expectations before the Olympic Games of Beijing, but due to injury, Liu had to withdraw from the competitions during the first round.

"The 110m is an event where Liu and I have stolen leaderships from the U.S. hurdlers and we know they will come back to fight for recovering it," Robles said.

Robles is currently training to compete the 60m trail in the Doha World Cup, Qatar held from March 12 to 14, 2010.

Before the World Cup, Robles plans to participate in some ten competitions including the one to be held in Sweden, aimed at improving his condition.
