Indonesia to host Asian golf tournament

JAKARTA - Indonesia will host an Asia-Pacific golf tournament of Indonesia Open on July 14-17 in the capital city of Jakarta, a press statement said here on Thursday.

With total prize of $1 million, the tournament is expected to be joined by the world's best golfers.

The tournament held by OneAsia, a men's professional golf tour based in the Asia-Pacific region, is expected to provide more opportunities for Asia Pacific golfers and more slots for local ones.

Michael Hendry became OneAsia's first champion from New Zealand when he fired a flawless final round at the 2010 Indonesia Open.
