China's Zhao wins 100 backstroke world title

SHANGHAI - China's Zhao Jing upset Natalie Coughlin of the United States to win the women's 100 metres backstroke title at the world swimming championships on Tuesday.

Zhao clocked 59.05 seconds to secure gold, with Russia's Anastasia Zueva taking the silver in 59.06. Coughlin, who had been under world record pace at 50 metres, took bronze in 59.15.
