LONDON - US Open and Olympic champion Andy Murray Tuesday announced he will skip the French Open due to the back injury.
The world number two retired with the back problem in his second-round match against Spain's Marcel Granollers at the Rome Masters last week, which posed as a bad sign for his withdrawal from the second tennis Grand Slam of the year.
Scotsman Murray will now aim to be fully fit for the start of the grasscourt season at Queens Club on June 10 and in time for Wimbledon.
