JAKARTA - Indonesian non-seeded men's doubles players Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan defeated on Friday Chinese seeded pair in quarterfinal round of Indonesia Open super series, trashed China' s only hope to win the event in the tournament.

Ahsan/Setiawan won the match in two straight games 21-18 and 21-13 after beating no. 5 seeds Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng.

"We had anticipated this match. We learned from their performance in Sudirman Cup. We had analyzed the way they played that made us confident in the match today," Mohammad Ahsan told a press conference after the match, citing to the recent biennial international badminton championship held in Malaysia.

Indonesian pairing did not give a chance for the Chinese seeded players that championed Indonesia Open 2011 by aggressively attacking the pairing.

Ahsan' s partner Hendra Setiawan said that performance of the Chinese pairing, Cai Yun in particular, has been decreasing, particularly after the London Olympic Games.

In semis, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan are scheduled to play Russian players Vladimir Ivanov/Ivan Sozonov. Hendra said that they had met in previous tournaments with win record of 2 to 1 for Indonesian pairing.  "We would fight it all out tomorrow," Hendra said.

Meanwhile in women's doubles, China has secured two berths in semi finals after its seeded players trashed their opponents in the quarterfinals.

No. 4 Ma Jin/Tang Jinhua defeated Indonesian pairing Pia Zebadiah/Rizki Amelia Pradipta in straight games 21-15, 21-10 while Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei beat back the challenge from Japanese Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi and advanced into the semifinals with a win of 21-16, 15-21 and 21-19.

Two more Chinese seeded pairings, the no. 1 and defending Indonesian Open champions Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang and the no. 8 Bao Yixin/Cheng Su are scheduled to play against Indonesian opponents later on Friday.
