INCHEON - Malaysia's wushu gold medalist Tai Cheau Xuen has been expelled from the Asian Games for failing a doping test, becoming the third doping case in the games, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old was tested after winning women's nanquan and nandao all-round event on Sept. 20, Malaysia's first gold at the games.
She was found to have taken sibutramine, a banned substance in the WADA Prohibited List 2014, OCA said in a statement.
"The competitor has been disqualified from the competition as well as these games and as such her accreditation canceled and her medal withdrawn," said the statement.
A Tajik footballer, Khurshed Beknazarov, and a Cambodian soft tennis player, Yi Sophany, had been booted out for doping.
