BEIJING - Multi-Olympic and world champion Lin Dan Wednesday said he aimed to win a third Olympic title in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

The top Chinese badminton player showed up at a signing ceremony where he inked a deal with sports gear manufacturer Yonex.

"I hope to win the third Olympic gold medal in Rio, which can show children around the world how one can realize one's dream through hard work and endeavor," said the 31-year-old, dubbed "Super Dan".

Lin is one of the most accomplished badminton players in history, having 2008 and 2012 Olympic singles titles and five world championships gold medals to his name.
