Real Madrid signs Norwegian teen Martin Odegaard

MADRID - Real Madrid says it has signed 16-year-old Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard.

Madrid announced Odegaard's transfer from Norwegian club Stroemgodset early on Thursday.

Odegaard will be presented on Thursday after a medical exam.

In October, Odegaard became the youngest player at age 15 to appear in a European Championship qualifier when he came on as a substitute in Norway's 2-1 win over Bulgaria.

Media reports had pointed to interest from several European clubs in the teenager.

MADRID - Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo criticized the transfer policy of club President, Florentino Perez in an interview on Monday.

Speaking on the same day the club unveiled former Manchester United forward, Javier Hernandez on a loan deal for the current season, the Portuguese international, admitted that he would have "done things differently," over the summer.
