Beijing is ready to welcome the International Olympic Committee's evaluation commission to inspect its bid plan and venue proposals for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

Ahead of the IOC evaluation commission's visit to Beijing and its co-host city, Zhangjiakou in Hebei province next week, the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games Bid Committee pledged on Saturday that everything has been well prepared to present the evaluation commission a detailed plan of hosting a sustainable, economical and athlete-centered Winter Olympics.

Wang Hui, the bid committee's deputy secretary general, stated at a media briefing on Saturday that Beijing's bid philosophy of presenting an "athlete-centered, sustainable and economical" Olympics is perfectly aligned to and highly consistent with the principles of the Olympic Agenda 2020.

"While we welcome the delegation of the IOC evaluation commission in Beijing, we will demonstrate our desire to host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games and the benefits that Beijing as a host city will bring to the Olympic Movement, in line with the Agenda 2020 principles," said Wang, who is also the bid committee's director of media and communications.

"We have prepared for the evaluation commission visit in strict compliance with the IOC's requirements and we are working hard to make a good impression on the commission," he said.
