GWANGJU, South Korea - China's Che Xiaoxi defeated her teammate Jiang Yue 4-1 (11-8, 7-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-9) to win the women's singles table tennis at the 2015 Gwangju Summer University Games on Monday.
Yang Ha-eun of South Korea and Szocs Bernadette Cynthia of Romania shared the third place.
In the men's singles, Morizono Masataka of Japan also beat his teammate Oshima Yuya 4-1 (11-9, 11-9, 7-11, 11-7, 11-9) to win the gold, while Liu Yi of China and Lee Sang-su of South Korea both placed third.
China topped the Universiade table tennis medal table with four golds, one silver and two bronzes, followed by Japan and Chinese Taipei both with 1-3-2. South Korea settled for the fourth place with 1-0-5.
