NBA giants to make Shenzhen debut

The Los Angels Clippers and Charlotte Hornets will play the NBA's first game in Shenzhen when they meet at the Shenzhen Universiade Center on October 11.

They will clash again thee days later at Shanghai's Mercedes-Benz Arena.

The NBA and its partners will stage interactive fan events, consumer promotions and community events aimed at bringing the NBA Global Games to fans across the country. Fans will have the chance to win tickets to the October.

The Clippers will likely be led by eight-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul, five-time All-Star Blake Griffin, NBA champion Paul Pierce and NBA All-Defensive First Team selection DeAndre Jordan. The visit will be the Clippers' second to China, following games in Beijing and Shanghai in 2012.

The Hornets' roster features 2013-14 All-NBA Third Team selection Al Jefferson, emerging stars Kemba Walker, Nicolas Batum and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist together with Chinese fan favorite Jeremy Lin. The Charlotte franchise is making its first trip to the country.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, according to NBA China. For the Shenzhen game they are available through the iRENA Group's WeChat account "irenafwpt", Wepiao national call center (400-110-0100) and online at Wepiao.com. Tickets for the Shanghai game can be bought through the Damai national call center (400-610-3721) and Damai.cn.
