BEIJING - Germany's Kathrina Molitor won the world women's javelin gold medal on her last attempt on Sunday.
As Chinese Lyu Huihui reached for gold with a new Asian record of 66.13 meters on her fifth try, Molitor hurtled the javelin to 67.69 meters to nail the title.
Lyu had to settle for silver with South Africa's Sunette Viljoen in third place with 65.79.
