Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Clippers celebrate NBA Fan Appreciation Day presented by Dongfeng Nissan in Shanghai

NBA China will host NBA Fan Appreciation Day presented by Dongfeng Nissan on Oct. 13 at the Oriental Sports Center to thank fans for their support of NBA Global Games China 2015 presented by Master Kong.

The event, which marks the fourth consecutive Fan Appreciation Day around NBA Global Games China, will provide thousands of fans with the opportunity to watch the Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Clippers conduct team practices and participate in on court games.

Fans will also see NBA Legends Dell Curry, Ron Harper and Glen Rice join select players and fans in taking the last 10 shots of the "Shoot Two Million Hoops" campaign, which began on June 3 in hundreds of schools and communities across Shanghai. The campaign is a joint initiative between NBA China and the Shanghai Sports Bureau to promote an active and healthy lifestyle through sports participation.

The event will feature a variety of basketball and entertainment elements, including performances by the Clippers and Hornets dance teams, Global Games Dunkers and the Hornets'

interactive team "Swarm Squad" and mascot Hugo.

NBA Fan Appreciation Day partners Dongfeng Nissan, American Airlines, Gatorade, Marriott International, Master Kong and Tencent will engage fans with several event activations.

Tickets to NBA Fan Appreciation Day presented by Dongfeng Nissan are free to the public and available through a series of interactive promotions from the NBA's digital and marketing partners. Fans can follow the NBA's official QQ account to win tickets.

The Los Angeles Clippers and the Charlotte Hornets will play the NBA's first game ever in Shenzhen when they meet Oct. 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Shenzhen Universiade Center, followed by a rematch in Shanghai Oct. 14 at 8:00 p.m. at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

In 2004, the NBA became the first American professional sports league to compete in China, with two exhibition games between the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings in Shanghai and Beijing. Following NBA Global Games China 2015 presented by Master Kong, the NBA will have played 20 games in Greater China since 2004. The NBA is the most popular sports league in China, and basketball is the nation's number one team sport, with 300 million people playing the game.
