MEXICO CITY -- Former president of the Honduras Football Association, Rafael Callejas, who was indicted by US officials among the FIFA corruption scandals, on Thursday denied any wrongdoing.

"I have nothing to do with match-fixing," said Callejas during a news conference surrounding his alleged involvement in the scandals.

Callejas added he would work relentlessly to clear his name.

Callejas was the president of the Honduras Football Association between 1990-1994.

The Honduran government on Thursday announced it has received an extradition request from the US for Callejas.

"Nobody is above the law and, for this reason, the government has told the US of our readiness to collaborate," said a government press release.
