Gou Zhongwen named president of the Chinese Olympic Committee

BEIJING - Gou Zhongwen, director of China's General Administration of Sport, was named the president of the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) here on Wednesday.
In addition, former president of the COC, Liu Peng, was named honorary chairman of the committee.
The announcements were made by the COC during its 2016 session.
Liu had served as president of the COC since 2005.
