Expat students paint for Shenzhen Universiade

A total of 120 children from more than 10 countries gathered at Garden City Center in Nanshan district to paint for their holiday and Shenzhen Universiade on June 1st, International Children's Day. It was the eighth annual painting competition for the international community to mark the children's day.

The children were from Shekou International School (SIS), QSI International School and a Japanese school. Stephen Liao, 8, a pupil at SIS, won first prize but said he didn't feel he was a foreigner living in the Shekou community.

Liang Wei, an artist and a member of the judging panel, was impressed with the paintings. Lian has held exhibitions at Guan Shanyue Art Gallery and Nanhai E-cool, an art creation base in Nanshan.

Shenzhen is located at the southern tip of the Chinese mainland on the eastern bank of the mouth of the Pearl River and neighbors Hong Kong.
