Guangdong Youth Shooting Championships ended

On July 15th, the Guangdong Youth Shooting Championships ended after 5 days of intense competitions. The champions of the men's first division 10m air pistol and the men's 50m rifle three positions event were Lin Fan Chao from Shenzhen and Chen Xin Quan from Guangzhou. They won with final results of 678.3 and 1254.6, respectively.

After the men's first division 10m air pistol finals, Lin Fan Chao was interviewed. He said he is a Shenzhen athlete, and currently attends Central South University of Changsha. He is satisfied with the results of this competition, though he has had better performances in practices. Concerning the newly rebuilt Shenzhen Shooting Hall, Lin Fan Chao stated that the equipment and hardware facilities, especially the electronic targets and scoring machines, are very advanced. He also praised the shooting hall as "one of the top three shooting halls in the nation".

"The moment of pulling the trigger is awesome!" These were the first words that the men"s 50m rifle three positions champion Chen Xin Quan said when he was being interviewed. As a rising senior, he has had closed to 6 years of shooting experience,and interest is the main reason he chose this event. Shooting is a sport that has high requirements both mentally and physically. Chen Xin Quan stated that intense training on a daily basis and an optimistic attitude in competitions are the key to victory.

According to sources, because the contestants for the shooting championships are relatively young, the difficulty of the competitions is slightly lower than that of the official Universiade competitions. However, many contestants still qualified for A level.
