Free culture exhibitions during Universiade

People in Shenzhen of Guangdong province will enjoy free art performances as well as culture exhibitions during the Shenzhen Universiade period.

The city's tourism authorities announced Thursday that it will hold a series of art programs, including 84 art performances, 36 exhibitions on art and historical relics and other major activities in its tourist spots. Entry will be free for all from Aug 12 to 23.

Another 82 art performances will be provided for foreign guests in the Universiade village at the time.

Shenzhen is located at the southern tip of the Chinese mainland on the eastern bank of the mouth of the Pearl River and neighbors Hong Kong.

The brainchild of Deng Xiaoping, the country's first special economic zone was established here by the Chinese Government in 1980. It has been a touchstone for China's reform and opening-up policy since then.
