Universiade Village makes its first media debut

The Universiade village made its first media debut Thursday Aug 4, as reported by Shenzhen Special Zone Daily.

Six hotel management teams from Shenzhen, all of which have the management qualifications for four-star hotels and above, will provide professional hotel-styled services to the Universiade "villagers".

Six apartment buildings in the village will provide 5,228 rooms that can accommodate about 13,000 people.

2,543 young students, among whom 30 are from Kazan, Russia, host city of the next Universiade, will provide volunteer services in the village during the Games period. Extensive cultural activities will be held to promote culture exchanges among these young volunteers.

The village will run for 21 days from Aug. 6-26.

Shenzhen is located at the southern tip of the Chinese mainland on the eastern bank of the mouth of the Pearl River and neighbors Hong Kong.
