137 foreign media outlets applied for Universiade reporting

Roughly 3,156 media correspondents, including 342 foreign correspondents from 137 media organizations, have applied for the reporting of the 2011 Shenzhen Universiade until Aug. 5, the deadline of the accreditation date, as reported by Shenzhen Special Zone Daily.

"Shenzhen is ready," said Huang Guoqiang, Deputy Secretary-General of Shenzhen Municipal City and the Games Organizing Committee at the third session of the FISU Executive Committee Conference, held in Shenzhen Sunday morning, Aug. 7, 2011.

Huang gave the latest update of the preparation work for the Games at the meeting.

The General Assembly of FISU, the biennially-held meeting and the highest level FISU meeting, will also be held in Shenzhen from Aug. 9-10.

Shenzhen is located at the southern tip of the Chinese mainland on the eastern bank of the mouth of the Pearl River and neighbors Hong Kong.
