Tamas Vasary conducts Liszt

To commemorate Liszt's 200th birth anniversary, the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra will invite Tamas Vasary as the guest conductor and solo pianist to present Liszt's works.

Vasary won the Liszt Piano Competition's Gold Award at age 14.

The repertoire includes Liszt's Dante Symphony, Hungarian Rhapsody No 2 in D Minor and Hungarian Fantasia.

Swan Lake all the way from Seoul

The Seoul Metropolitan Dance Theater has reinvented Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake into a dance drama. The five-scene performance retains the original plot, but adds scenes located in the northern Korean peninsula and China. It also integrates other art forms, such as traditional Korean instrumental music and singing, and Indian, Chinese and Mongolian dances.

Zorro the Musical tells of good and evil

This legendary story of good versus evil has been a source of enduring fascination and has been the subject of a best-selling novel by producer Isabel Allende and several major motion pictures. Now, Zorro the Musical retells the dramatic tale of a romantic hero with aerial acrobatics, sword-fighting to the red-hot Gipsy King beat, brought to the stage with the authentic colors of traditional Flamenco.

Switzerland's oldest symphony orchestra

Founded in 1868, the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra is Switzerland's oldest symphony orchestra.

The orchestra has become one of Europe's leading ensembles and has recorded a series of groundbreaking albums, including releases that feature performances of Richard Strauss' and Robert Schumann's symphonies. Chief conductor and artistic director David Zinman will join 100 artists to present Mahler's Symphony No 5 to Chinese fans on the centenary of his death.
