Japan's night festival

China Daily | Updated: 2011-10-31 11:47

One of Japan's most spectacular yomatsuri (night festivals) will be held at the little town of Chichibu near Tokyo on Dec 2 and 3. Fireworks, traditional performing arts and an action-packed parade of huge, illuminated floats will entertain the crowds. This wonderful festival dates back more than 300 years, held in honor of the town's six protective kami (deities), each of which occupies one of the floats.
