A sparkling Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Regent Beijing

With major media personalities, business supporters, hotel guests and staff, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony was held at Regent Beijing on the evening of 2nd December 2011. Dressed with Christmas decorations in the lobby, with Christmas colours of red and green, the entire hotel reflected a festive atmosphere, dominated by a three story high Christmas tree.

The traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the hotel lobby began with a traditionally attired staff choir singing Christmas carols. Wearing Christmas hats, dressed in choir dresses, the choir sang warm and cheerful melodies full of the Christmas spirit. Later the Managing Director Mr. George Benney invited representatives of the hotel owner to light the Christmas tree together, whilst Santa Claus made a special appearance carrying gifts to all the guests. The ceremony commemorates the start of Christmas season.

Along with the traditional Gluhwein, eggnog, homemade Christmas stollen and sweet songs, all the guests were engrossed in the festive mood of joy. “In these Christmas holidays, I want to say thank you to all our guests for your support and help throughout the year, and I also appreciate the efforts made by all our hotel staff in the past year.” said Mr. George Benney, Managing Director of Regent Beijing and Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing.
