The "Most Valuable Golf Membership Assessment" was launched on March 16, 2012 at the National Convention Center in Beijing. The activity - co-sponsored by Golf Weekly and Investor Journal - aims to identify the value of golf memberships and investigate the prospective golf market.

Investing in a golf membership with the highest appreciation potential has always been a topic of concern among golf lovers and the golf industry.

For players, purchasing a membership is never just a simple consumer behavior. Values of memberships have appreciated by 300 percent to 500 percent in golf clubs such as Beijing's Pine Valley, Shanghai's Sheshan and Shenzhen's Mission Hill. Members of these clubs have not only enjoyed supreme golf courses and services but also witnessed a growth in their membership as an asset.

Hundreds of golf clubs are being built in China, a market that's hungry for luxury products and finer ways of living. As a result, the investment environment for golf memberships has become more complicated and consumers' eyes may be clouded with the abundant lines of products available.

If so, how should one choose a golf membership from an investor's point of view? How should consumers use knowledge in investment to invest in the right golf membership? Golf Weekly and Investor Journal joined hands to offer a solution supported by objective facts and backed by a fair, open and just principle.

Committee members shall announce the "Most Valuable Golf Membership Assessment Report" in Q4 of 2012, the first and most authoritative of its kind in China. The organizers also plan to carry on annual assessments starting in 2012.
