The city of Hulunbuir is made up of 253,000 square kilometers and is said to be the biggest city in the world, 40% of which is covered by prairie land, while the remainder consists of forest and wetland. The area is also home to Asia's largest wetland.

Throughout the city there are more than 280 Neolithic relics, considered by archeologists to be the origins of many nomadic Northern China civilizations.

With 42 minority ethnic groups currently living in the city, it has a rich multicultural atmosphere. Moreover, as a border city neighboring Russia and Mongolia, it is also full of exotic charm.
