Located in central Singapore, Gardens by the Bay captures the essence of Singapore as the premier tropical city in a garden, with cutting-edge innovations and environmentally friendly techonologies. The park consists of three waterfront gardens – Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central.
In the Bay South are two glass conservatories Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, which demonstrate various plants in the most threatened habitats in the world such as tropical montane region and the Mediterranean. Nearby are Supertrees, which are tree-like structures with heights ranging between 25 and 50 meters. As home to unique plants including ferns, orchids and vines, the ecological “trees” use solar energy for lighting at night and collect rainwater for irrigation and fountain displays. Visitors can walk on the skyway between two Supertrees to have a breathtaking bird view of the Gardens and the iconic Marina Bay Sands shopping mall.
