Sands Macao recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, and glitterati and paparazzi gathered to help this golden icon commemorate the occasion. Xu Lin joins the celebrations.
The hotel's signature gold facade is a reminder that 10 years ago, it was the first leisure and entertainment complex owned and managed by an international operator, setting the benchmark for future projects.
"We're not only celebrating the 10 years since we opened our first property in the Macao Special Administrative Region, but also the growth of Macao into a world center of tourism and leisure," says Edward Tracy, president and CEO of Sands China Ltd.
Government officials attending the birthday celebrations included Fernando Chui Sai-on, head of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and Edmund Ho Hau-wah, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Sands Macao boasts seven specialty restaurants and lounges offering various cuisines ranging from steaks to classic Cantonese.
The hotel's 289 luxury suites are well appointed and fully equipped with modern and luxurious amenities. Other facilities include live entertainment, spa, outdoor pool and the 650-seat Sands Theater.
