Rongjiang county in Guizhou province is currently constructing the world's highest ethnic Dong drum tower in Liujiang square, Rongjiang county, in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The drum tower is a 27 storey concrete and wooden structure, 55.8 meters high and covering an area of 600 square meters. It is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
The Drum tower is a featured architecture among ethnic Dongs. It is well known that a village with a drum tower must be an ethnic Dong village. It represents a major place for ethnic Dong people to gather.
Culturally and spiritually, the drum tower also represents luck and prosperity collecting the ethnic Dong people's culture and wisdom.
